Our Story

Clothes For Action exists to demonstrate how creativity, when supported by the right structure and intent, can create meaningful social impact.

The project brings together Fluo Technologies and Big Creative Education around a shared ambition: to support charitable organisations while creating real opportunities for emerging young artists. Many art and design students are developing strong creative skills, yet lack visibility, professional experience, and a public platform to share their work beyond education. Clothes For Action is designed to help bridge that gap.

Fluo, a certified B Corp and contributor to 1% for the Planet, is committed to extending its impact beyond traditional forms of giving. Rather than limiting charitable support to business performance alone, the focus is on building a scalable, transparent platform that grows through community participation and collaboration.

Working together, Fluo and BCE bring students from art, design, and digital skills courses into a single initiative. Student-created artwork becomes responsibly produced clothing, with a portion of every sale supporting charities selected by the artists themselves.

The first campaign, Safe Futures, focuses on organisations working with refugees, displaced people, and individuals experiencing homelessness. The campaign supports Emergency, War Child, Refugee Council, and Centrepoint, organisations delivering essential services in the UK and internationally.

The platform uses a print-on-demand model via Rapanui and its Teemill platform. This ensures products are manufactured ethically, produced only when ordered, and delivered with minimal environmental impact. For every item sold, 10–20% of revenue is donated to charity, with all donations reported openly to ensure transparency and accountability.

Clothes For Action continues to evolve. Alongside the online store, the project is designed to support future collaborations with organisations, events, and communities, whether through commissioned designs, ethical merchandise, or partnerships aligned with shared social values.

At its core, Clothes For Action connects creativity with responsibility. It is an ongoing collaboration between education, industry, and the charitable sector, built to support important work with care, integrity, and openness.
