What they do

War Child is an international charity that protects, educates, and supports children and their families affected by conflict worldwide. Founded in 1993, it works in countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, Uganda, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Jordan, where it supports Syrian refugees.

War Child provides both immediate life essentials, such as food, cash relief, and psychosocial support, as well as long-term resources, including education, skills training, and family reunification. Their services are based on evidence that children’s futures depend on recovering from trauma, continuing education, and developing skills for resilience.

War Child campaigns to influence policymakers and gives young people and communities the tools to speak out and advocate for themselves globally.
